1. How can I benefit from CETUSA's High School Program?
You can:
- Experience an American host family
- Develop cross-cultural understanding
- Improve your English
- Gain an educational edge in the global business world
- Forge lasting friendships
- Try new customs and technologies
- Share your favorite home-country traditions
2. How do I apply for the program?
To start the process, contact our High School Office. CETUSA will answer your questions and put you in touch with one of our overseas partners to start your program screening and application.
3. Can I choose the state in which I want to live?
Many of our overseas partners can offer you a regional guarantee. After CETUSA connects you with an overseas partner, that agent can provide you and your family with more details.
4. Can I be placed in the same state as my friend?
Since our placements are random all over the country, it is unlikely that you and your friend would end up in the same location. Besides, our philosophy is to completely immerse you in the American culture and make American friends.
5. How will I make friends in the U.S.?
This topic is covered in the pre-arrival orientation you receive in your home country, as well as the post-arrival orientation that will be given to you by your Community Coordinator. You will learn ideas for joining activities and reaching out to your peer group in and outside of school.
6. What are my host family's responsibilities?
Host families provide:
- Room and board
- Some transportation to activities and events
- Guidance and assistance to help you adapt to the American lifestyle
