Outbound Programs for High School

High School

The CETUSA Outbound High School Program offers you one of the most enriching opportunities available for high school students and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience either a semester or full school year overseas.

As an Outbound High School Program participant, you will travel to the country of your choice and attend a local high school. While you are on program, you will live with caring, native host family who has been carefully screened and selected for you.

You will attend the local high school with teenagers from your host community and experience what daily life is life for teenagers in that area. Your daily course work will likely include subjects such as math and science, taught in the language of your host country.

Your host family will welcome you into their home and provide guidance in their country’s mannerisms and customs. They will also provide you with room and board and treat you as a family member. Your host family will likely have children your own age and may even speak English nearly as well as you do.

You will also have a local CETUSA program coordinator who is conversant in English to help and guide you throughout your stay.

Why participate in CETUSA Outbound High School Program?

Learning a foreign language, another country’s history and culture and gaining knowledge of international affairs are just a few of the advantages of studying abroad. Participation in one of our outbound programs will allow you to gain invaluable knowledge, maturity and independence. International travel experience and foreign language skills will positively impact your future career, especially as second language skills are becoming more and more important in today’s job market, and will be a valuable addition to your college application and resume.
