Our Private High School Program is in some ways similar to our regular High School Program. CETUSA program participants are able to spend a semester full academic year in America attending a private high school. Private schools can have many advantages: smaller classes, variety of AP (advanced placement) classes, low staff turnover rates and good sports/music programs, just to name a few. Some private schools also offer specialized courses that cater to students with limited English. This means that some private schools are able to accept students with lower English abilities and work with them in a personalized setting to improve their language skills.
Each participant lives either with an American host family or they attend a boarding school and live in a dormitory setting. CETUSA host families are screened to ensure that their homes are friendly, safe places for our participants to live. Participants who are living with a host family also benefit from a local CETUSA Coordinator who will provide support and counsel through every stage of their program.
