Job placement

You need to have a confirmed job placement. You may secure your own employment or CETUSA may assist you in securing employment with reputable employers in the U.S. You will have a chance to meet your future employer during one of our overseas Job Fairs.

Form DS-2019

Upon acceptance to the program, you will be issued Form DS-2019. This is a “Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor (J-1 Visa) status”. It officially identifies CETUSA as your program sponsor.

Embassy

Once you have all necessary paper work completed, you are ready to attend an interview at the U.S. consulate in your home country and apply for the J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa with work authorization.

Orientation

It is required that you attend the Pre-Departure Orientation meeting in your home country and complete the Online Pre-Departure Questionnaire. Pre-Departure Orientation covers all aspects of the Work and Travel Program, CETUSA recommendations and expectations, as well as other pertinent information. The Online Pre-Departure Questionnaire is designed to ensure that you are familiar with the program rules.
Housing

Upon your arrival, CETUSA regional managers will assist you with your accommodation. They will present you with a variety of rental options.
