“What everybody is telling you before you go, is that this experience will change your life. And you are thinking “What are they saying? I get it, it’s big, it’s an incredible experience…but really? Change my life?” So you start getting the idea in your head, thinking about it, and googling the city you are going to… start talking to the guys from other places that will share this with you.
Time flies and you are suddenly preparing bags and saying goodbye to your friends and family with lots of hope and expectations about this whole different experience you are facing.
During the process a lot of questions emerge — doubts and fears. Personally, I was very lucky to go through it with the agency that I did, “Odile Beer Viajes”. My agent, Federica Levrero, was there for me at every moment, had all the information and truly cared about me having a fascinating time there.
That didn’t change at all when I got there. Anne Marie Conestabile (Regional Manager) along with her assistant Pawel helped us through everything and were always around to help us if we needed it. They went above and beyond making us feel comfortable and taken care of, so we could enjoy every moment.
You get to meet lots of people, different cultures, how things all over the world are so different from home. It gives you perspective, the chance to see how great things already are at home, and also options in how other things could be. Meanwhile you are having a great time, working, practicing the language, traveling, living alone and figuring out things by yourself.
All those things, all the people you bonded with and made all those memories with, all the places you got to see… really do change your life. It’s an experience that will stay with you forever."
