Travel
After successfully completing your program you will still have 29 days to travel. You may remain in the U.S. for up to but not exceed (30) additional days after the program end date indicated on your Form DS-2019. J-1 Visa Program participants may remain in the U.S. as a tourist only for a maximum of thirty additional days.
Exiting and returning to the U.S.A.
If during your program, you are planning to visit different countries and return to the U.S., you need to:
* Check with the country’s Consulate to see if you will need a visa to enter the country. * Have a “Responsible Officer” from CETUSA sign your Form DS-2019 to insure that you are in good standing on the program. Please send your Form DS-2019 with self-addressed envelope enough in advance to allow for mail to travel from you to the CETUSA office and be returned to you. * Make sure that you have a (M) multiple-entry visa and not an (S) single-entry visa. * Make sure that when you re-enter the U.S. the ending date on your Form DS-2019 has not expired. You will not be able to re-enter the U.S. after the program end date on the DS-2019.
