Located in Queens, New York, this law firm provides legal services pertaining to personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, criminal law, real estate, and more. The firm prides itself on its personal, ethical, and timely service and advice to its clients. They are seeking a law intern who is eager to gain hands-on experience in the field.

Position Description:

  • Serve as one of the main point of contact for all assigned cases.
  • Research medical and legal literature.
  • Investigate all coverage’s, request certified police reports, request out of State vehicles insurance information, open MVAIC claims if no coverage available.
  • Act as a court liaison between judges, court administration, attorneys, public and clients.
  • Handle all tasks associated with document production and distribution for attorneys.
  • Organize client’s correspondence(s) and prepare mailings.
  • Negotiate Property Damage, UM/SUM, NYC and MVAIC claims with insurance companies, attorneys on behalf of clients.
  • Request Final Lien from Medicaid and Medicare.
  • Schedule the meeting for clients to speak to an attorney.
  • Mail out Consent to Change Attorney and client’s stop working letter to outgoing attorneys and discusses reimbursements.
  • Input all details information into database (smartadvocate) and the drive, medical providers, injuries, carriers, defendants, etc. 
  • Open slip & fall claims against private/commercial policy, research property owners’ assets, send certified letters of representations to property owners and or to owners carriers, if no response timely advise attorney to file S&C for services.

Applicant Qualifications:

  • To apply for the Internship program, applicants must be full-time university students with academic focus in Law studies OR have graduated less than 12 months from the internship begin date.
  • To apply for the Trainee program, applicants must hold Law degrees and have at least 1 year of professional work experience related to the degree, OR be career professionals of 5 or more years in the field
  • Excellent English communication skills, attention to detail, wiliness to learn.
