Local Coordinators

CETUSA Local Coordinators (“LCs”) are a nationwide network of 1099 contractors who are passionate about cultural exchange. Each CETUSA local coordinator works in his or her own community and is supported by a CETUSA Regional Director and CETUSA staff. You can work as a local coordinator in any community in the United States. Post-secondary education is not required, and training is provided by CETUSA.

Local Coordinators:

  • Recruit volunteer host families
  • Help prospective host families complete the online Host Family Application
  • Secure acceptance for exchange students and the student’s US high school
  • Supervise students and provide support to both students and host families for the duration of the student’s program
  • Answer questions and support needs from exchange students, host families, and schools in their local area.

Requirements

  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Access to a computer, phone, and printer
  • Use of reliable transportation
  • Ability to work well individually and with a team
  • Sound judgement and communication skills
  • Motivation to set and reach goals
